The Partisan Memorial Cemetery in Banja Luka is one of the city’s most significant sites, symbolizing the struggle and unity of the people during World War II. Built after the war, it serves as the resting place for the heroes of the First and Second Banja Luka Operations, as well as national heroes involved in illegal activities during the war in Banja Luka.
In addition to the fighters of Banja Luka brigades, other Banja Luka fighters who were part of the People’s Liberation Movement are also buried here. A large number of women who were national heroes rest at this cemetery as well. Currently, the cemetery is in a dilapidated state, overgrown and neglected, with nationalist symbols visible on its walls. It remains uncertain whether the city administration will recognize the historical and cultural significance of this memorial and work towards its preservation. The cemetery is located in the Pobrđe neighborhood of Banja Luka.
